RAC

Just run, no sweat.
To conquer, to overcome and not to yield because only the finest make it through.
The extra effort differentiate a winner from second place.

These quotes stick with me as I run the race. And half or literally almost all the time I was trying to mindfuck myself with the distance left to run.
The excitement, the adrenalin rush inside as you stand around the starting line, waiting for the emcee to tell you it's 10s more to the start of the run.
You wasn't sure whether you would survive running, or whether you would come close to your target timing. It's just a matter of seconds before the race starts, and focus is all that is on your mind.
The horn went off, and people started rushing past the starting line.
It's suddenly a race of who can squeeze through the tiny gap between runners and getting to the front.

The first kilometer was easy, I mean I just started the race, I'm still fresh with energy. Come on, I can do it.
But one mistake was to start a little too fast ahead of my normal speed. And like all things, I eventually can't maintain at that speed.
Half the time, it was about enjoying the run, observing the way people run and their expression. And it wasn't about just running, but the fact that people are taking time out to exercise.
It was a 5km run up before a turn about and we run back another 5km.
On the other side, I see the disabled cyclists, and the runners beside them cheering them on.

A guy with a red shirt ran past me, and his shirt says 'feel like heaven after running like hell'. Total motivation to chase after him. And the excuse to ask where he get the shirt from.
Another guy on the opposite side was dragging a car tire as he runs, ultimate salute for him. You can hear the sound of the car tire being dragged on the ground as he runs.
You see people running, jogging and walking.

It's almost like a life route.
At the start, things look easy and you're sure that you can do it.
The start is good, a nice comfortable pace or maybe a little too fast but it's still good.
As it continue, you realize that it starts to get a little tiring and stopping is just so tempting.
You look forward to the halfway mark where you can turn around and now head towards the finishing line. It's like a mental state where you either focus on running, or you let your mind wander and distract.
The distance gets longer, the pain starts kicking in. You see people overtaking you and you try to match their pace.
Finally you reach the last kilometer and you increase your pace, yet trying to match it to a comfortable pace so you can last.
One thing you still hate about the last kilometer is that the route seemed longer, you can't see the finishing line and just when you turn the corner and hope the line is there, no, it's a lot further away.
But after you cross the line, it's the sense of achievement that you have completed the race. You challenged yourself and you achieved it.

Yea, that's what happened when you run.
And after that it's enjoyment of the milo van ^^
The word is just 'OMG'. I haven't seen that milo van in at least 4 years since my last race in Secondary 4. Fond memories. And the thing on my mind then is just spam drinking milo. I'm never going to see much of this milo van again.

So let's start from the beginning. My first race pack collection.
And the thought of purchasing the RAC bears. Yet I'm always in a rush from places to places.
Headed down to Velocity to collect my race pack the day before my exams. Good job. After collecting it, it's a straight journey home to study.
And mummy was more amused at my number tag than me because it had her name on it.
Hahah!
So that was day one.

Some pictures taken before and after the race.
And my first medal this year!
Though I couldn't take pictures of the cheer-leading quad like in front, but hey, back view is awesome too!
Barely slept the night before and was up like twice that night chatting with Box. Thank goodness for him sleeping late else I won't have anyone to talk to in the middle of the night.
Ended up getting up at 4.30am and just like going to survive on less than 5hours of sleep for the whole day.

After the race, it was another rushing day for me to head down to Chinatown for some work.
And Box finding me after that. Ultimate happyness.
Who knew that working two days there, and I know well quite a number of people there already. From the 7-eleven aunty to the kfc staffs and even some other staffs there and the security guards as well! They even can joked with me that they wanted to help me take the whole carton of tissues away for me so I can go back earlier. But unfortunately I still have to be there for three hours.

After that it's earning the first meal of the day with Box.
Literally surviving almost 9hours without much proper food is starving and dying.
Lunch at Genki Sushi, our first time there and we both got super amused by how they delivered the food to you.
The dishes you ordered is sent to you on a moving train. It reduce the staff need to carry and serve you every dish and you get all the dishes at one shot. How cool is that.
And I got my well-awaited Starbucks drink. Tried their new drink of dark mocha white chocolate pudding frap. Honestly, I didn't quite enjoy it. I prefer back my original drink of dark mocha, skinny and without whip cream.
We were joking how the white chocolate pudding looks like tofu!
But that's my guilty treat of the day and starting today (Monday) I am going on a no-dessert diet.
Do wonder when I would start having withdrawal symptoms or like binge eat dessert.

First day of term, and the lecturer didn't turn up. Good job! Wasted two hours of my time to travel there and wait for a non-existence lecturer.
Tomorrow, work and study. Back to being busy busy busy. Sigh T.T

Back at Sec School

My ultimate busy Friday morning at my secondary school.
Even though I have graduated from secondary school for coming five years already, it doesn't mean I can't find any excuse for me to go back to help out.
And today my mom just gave me the perfect excuse.
Just nice that today is Racial Harmony and she agreed to help them in the tending of booths. Who knew that mummy would still be active in the PTC even after I have graduated years ago.

And boy was my principal happy to see me. Again with the usual comment, but this time he asked if I'm doing Twilight since I have red lens, and him asking me to stop changing hair colors. Hahah!

Today I'm in charge of the game stall. Just a simple game where it's all about luck and lucky fingers.
You pay $1 for two spins and on the board, they have only about 6 columns where you get to win something, and they are labelled 1, 2 or 3. To make it harder, there is only one 1.
At the beginning there weren't much students who wanted to play the game, but gradually as we started promoting and doing the sound effects each time a student wins something, we attract the crowds. Before we know it, we have the busiest game stalls.
Crazy morning of watching the board spin and seeing whether the students would come close to winning something.

There was a group of basket ballers who really aimed to try their luck at the game. On their first round, they gave me enough tickets for 17 spins. Of which they won at least 5 toys. And even after winning the toys, they gave all away.
After that they came back to play again, but this time with 10 spins.
Was joking with them that if this time they win the toy, could I have the toy instead. Hahah!
Surprisingly, after a while they came back later to find me and said that they had spare coupons and pass it to me and my friend, asking us to play the game ourselves and see if we have luck winning anything.
A really pleasant surprise, and coming from juniors whom I barely know but yet giving us the coupons just like that.
Though in the end I bought a book with the coupon instead.
Still definitely an eventful way to spend a Friday morning.

A much needed lunch after the high energy morning. Pretty much the food was gone within minutes.
Hungry kitty.
After that it's off to find Box.

Spend at the day at Toa Payoh before dinner at Bishan together with his sister.
Three kids off having black carrot cake for dinner. No words needed, just eat.
And I found out that his sister also doesn't eat spring onion with carrot cake too! So I'm not the only one who doesn't eat it.

And with the day ending with dessert.
My much needed post exam therapy at Wafflicious. Not too bad, but I reckon I prefer the usual at Cathay instead. For starters, the waffles got a little too soggy after a while and I didn't quite like the cookies n cream ice cream.
Still not too bad I guess. Though it's a first that I have chocolate flavored waffles and with everything chocolatey on top.

Post exam

Peekaboo!
Exams finally ended like at last, but ever since my exams ended, I have been on the constant move and pretty much just like living every minute of freedom before I have to head back to class on Monday.
My agony.
In the meanwhile, it's all about having lots of fun, a bit of work here and there, and of course spending time with Box.

The moment I ended my paper on Thursday, it's a trip down to Plaza to queue up for the minions. Hahah! Yea, I'm still going to try my luck and like see if I can get the yellow light up minion this week. The thing is I was in the queue and I already ordered and paid for my meal, BUT before I could get my minion and escape from the crowd, the maccas staff had to say that they were running low on the yellow minion and there was only two left. I was just WHAT.
Yea, in the end, no happy meal, no minion, just disappointment.

Ended up meeting a friend at Plaza before Box arrives. Carl's Junior for lunch before watching Pacific Rims. It's like a movie of watching transformer (just in bigger sizes and without the transforming part) fight godzilla. Either way, the show is not bad if you enjoy action movie. Next movie is waiting for the Wolverine.

The whole day was spend in town and my lover accompanying me throughout, even when I had those nonsensical job assignments to be done. He was just there beside me having fun. Reckon those were the most enjoyable assignments I have done so far, as much as I have irritated the salesperson. Hahah!
Even to the point of us playing dress up.
Japanese dinner at Ion. And oh I had macaroon like at last. Not the expensive kind but enough to satisfy my cravings.
Before an agonizing walk back to Plaza for me to take bus home.

Puking rainbow

Peekaboo! Another week, another post.
Reckon there goes any regular posting again. Just ended my first paper this week, and to be almost, my hand died from this paper.
First ever that I wrote so much within two hours. It's like 1.5 pages per questions, and to think the night before I was up till 1am on the phone with Box. Good job.
Less than 5 hours of sleep and I'm off into the exam room. A freaking good thing I still can remember what I studied the day before and at least write some decent stuffs on the paper.

And now I self-made my tradition that after every exam paper, I shall pamper myself with a sinful dessert. Either as a reward or a way of cheering myself up in case I didn't do that well. Either way, it's a good excuse for dessert, and it's the perfect excuse to have dessert for lunch.

A nice cosy cafe just round the Serangoon Gardens.
To think it's one of the few dessert cafe that I known so far that is open on a Monday. It's kind of my happiness since most of the papers are on Monday and after that I can't really go to the two dessert places around my area just 'cause they are closed.
Actually dropped by this cafe last week with the intention to try their rainbow cake, but unfortunately it got sold out.
BUT BUT. About 10minutes later, a whole new cake came in. By then I had ordered a sweet grape juice and didn't really want overload with sweetness at night.
So I told the boss that I might come down on Monday around lunch time (if he's open) to get the cake.
And he told me that he would try to reserve the slice for me if I'm confirm coming down.

So yea. Today I went down, and I wasn't really expecting him to keep his word. It was kind of more like trying my luck to see if they have it in stock.
And also the boss wasn't there today, so the more I wasn't expecting anything.
Stepping into the cafe, I immediately noticed that there was a slice of rainbow cake on display. Inside secretly hoping that's mine.
At first the counter girl said I could have it, but another counter girl then informed me that it was under reservation. Super disappointed when they said that.
Then here comes my surprise, she then look at me and asked for my name. 'Cause apparently, the boss did reserve the slice of cake for me! Whoohoo. Happy kitty.

6 layers of happyness and sweetness.
Awesome cake, nice texture, color (obviously), and surprisingly not too overwhelming of sweetness.
Hell better version of mine I'll say.
And it's literally all mine.
Was joking with my classmates on instagram that if Box was here beside me, it would be seven layers of sweetness ^^
And the funny thing was a guy was sitting opposite me with the thought of what my boy would be doing on a typical day. Sitting in a cafe with a book and food.
Definitely a thing to do on our list, chill out at this cafe with food, book and cakes!

Fatboys

So...
I haven't been blogging much. Then again, haven't really been using my camera much for any pictures taking, even when I go to food places or event.
Hmm, probably losing my touch for picture taking.
Give me a week, after exams I shall have three days freedom to take as many pictures as I want.
For now it's the start of mugging and well, I kind of dreading it.

But in the meanwhile, it's up to being nonsensical. As always.
And enjoying my dessert life. Literally.
This kitty seriously need to cut down on her dessert treats, but the rate that I'm going, I highly doubt my dessert intake would be reduce anytime soon.
Slowly making a list of dessert places that I would like to try.
And yes, I will attempt to take nice pictures with my camera and off the place to like 'promote' the location. LOL!
Lets see what's on the list...
1. Laudree marcaoons
2. Paddington House of Pancake
3. Le Chocolat Cafe
4. Fabulous Baker Boy
5. Seventh Heaven
6. That Cheesecake shop
7. Dean and Deluca
8. Smoulder
9. Chocolate Origin

Let's stop at nine first, at my favorite number before I add more to the list. Don't even know when I would go through this whole list first. But well, one thing for sure. I will go broke eating desserts!
And after that I need find ways to run the calories away.
It's like telling myself that I can live on a diet of beef and dessert. That's good enough for me.

Surprise mail came in on Wednesday, just when I wasn't in the mood for anything.
Here to new green lens. Although I still prefer the red lens. Green wasn't that obvious or that nice. But well, it does go well with my green highlights so I'm not complaining.
I have officially complete trying all colors of colored lens. Maybe except brown and black series.
And now it's teaching my girlfr how to wear her contact lens as well, bright side, I do not need to resort to poking her eyes myself to get the lens in!
Maybe I should go back to ordering normal colors next year. Just maybe.

Dates with Box are always sweet.
We found this waffles store in Cathay which both of us enjoyed, and now it has officially become our favorite place to eat whenever we are in Cathay, and after watching movie.
And the order would always be one savory and one sweet. Guessing that eventually we would have ordered everything on the menu. And then we would start over and ordering the waffles that we enjoyed the most.
First time we went there, I ordered the berry merry (since I was still on probation of not being able to eat chocolatey or sinful stuffs) and Box ordered ham with sausage.
Second time we went there, which was just a week later. This time we swoop the orders. Box order the bananas chocolate and I ordered ham with floss waffles.

And nope, that's when I realize I'm better off having sweet waffles than savory waffles.
Next stop, we will attack the Paddington house of pancake at City Square Mall. Super can't wait.
Pretty much it looks like the sweet pancakes they have are awesome. And for a ultimate sweet tooth like me, it's a must try.

Till then, I'm waiting till tomorrow to watch Despicable Me 2!
And I finally meet up with girlfr to pass her the pinkdot keychain. Hahah. Now it's a complete set with the plushie. Double pinkness with an extra despicable me toy in the background.
Cheat my feelings.
Shall save up the money now, and then going to spoil myself with a Batman pillow at the end of the month. And obviously my mummy would scream at me for getting that.
But the fact it's a freaking Batman pillow, I think she can close both eyes to that. Hahah! You can't stop someone who is now obsessed with Batman to not buy the pillow.
First it was the Nightmare before Christmas, now it's Batman. I wonder what's next.
Mental reminder to myself, after pillow it's finding Batman jacket next.

On Sunday after my run at MacRitchie, met up with Box for lunch.
First time eating there, and to be honest, I really like the whole layout of the place. From their awesome black covered lamp, to the open concept of high chairs for lunch. It's a nice chill out place to spend the hot afternoon. And both of us were unwilling to leave the place and walk under the heat after that.
Ordered the Wimpy burger. One beef and one lamb.

After lunch, we took random bus trip around Singapore. And ended up at Serangoon Gardens for dessert at Dessert Bowl.
Another first few times of eating here, despite being so near my home.
Second time to be precise. And this time I ordered the Durian Mousse. Sinful pleasure in the afternoon, and after months of not eating durians. This is call happyness.
Maybe it's just a hint for me to explore food places near my area more often, and actually know where is nice to eat.
Kind of ridiculous if someone ask me what is nice to eat around my area, and I don't know what to reply them. It's like good job to myself for not knowing.
Though now the next thing I feel like trying is the Ice Edge Cafe near my place, especially when they have this durian lava cake on the menu. BUT. The price hurts a lot as well, to be paying $15 for that dessert is by far the most expensive dessert I have heard of.

Right. Enough nonsensical posting. Ending the post with this make-do picture of the sunset.
Have a good week ahead!
